Women’s Day Webinar

To honor womanhood, Sreepathy Institute of Management & Technology, Vavanoor has celebrated the International Women’s Day under the aegis of Women Cell of SIMAT on Sunday, 7th March, 2021 through the Online Platform Google Meet. This day brings many things for women –a cause for celebration, a reason to pause and re-evaluate a remembrance, an inspiration and a time to honor, loved and admired. The theme of Women’s Day of 2021 is Choose to Challenge.

Sri. Sarah Joseph, Writer & Activist with a number of awards under her credit, including prestigious ones like Kendra Sahithya Academy Award, Kerala Sahithya Academy Award and Vayalar Award was the invited Speaker to deliver a talk on “Equality in Family and Forefront”.

Sri. Suhailath T. K, women cell student coordinator welcomed the Guests including students, academicians across the state. Sri. Jayasree N. Vettath, AP CSE inaugurated the event. During the inaugural speech Sri. Jayasree N. Vettath addressed that there should be a balance between career & family and girls should know their right to move forward. Sri.Ganga P, AP EEE felicitated the event with her vision on women empowerment as the audience is majorly women technologists. Sri. Haritha H,women cell student coordinator, introduced the Speaker Sri. Sarah Joseph stating the accolades the speaker had received and involvement as a social activist.

The guest of honour, Sri. Sarah Joseph shared her tales of struggle and success. Further she said, gender equality is very important for a healthy society. The milestone to be reached is the basic information for a girl child in every family education while bringing awareness among the society which will further result in overall development of nation and its community. Also added that it was the time to uphold women’s achievements, recognize challenges and focusgreater attention on women’s rights and gender equality to mobilize all people to do their best. After the session, the speaker addressed the queries from audience. The event took place in the presence of Women Cell Members and other dignitaries like writer Rajitha, critic Meera Pathari. Women Cell Advisor Prof. Sushma M. (HoD, ECE) presented the Digital Memento as a Token of Honour. Sri. Shana Shirin,women cell student coordinator ,delivered the Vote of Thanks.
