“NSS 7 DAY CAMP 2024”

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is an Indian government sponsored public service program conducted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India. Popularly known as NSS, the scheme was launched in Gandhiji’s Centenary year in 1969, aimed at developing student’s personality through community service. The NSS unit (Unit.No.233) has been functioning in the campus under NSS Technical Cell since 2010 and now working under APJAKTU NSS Cell from 2019 onwards. From its inception, the unit has carried out many notable activities and programs each year.

Camping forms an integral part of NSS Programs. It is a creative, sustained, and collective educational experience for students in social service through planned living to achieve certain specified objectives. It provides unique opportunities for students to participate in meaningful outdoor activities. It involves the students in the learning process through objective observation and democratic participation. The main purpose of special camping program under the National Service Scheme is education. It helps to broaden the outlook of the students and develops in them a sense of national consciousness and social responsibility. It inculcates in them self-discipline and develops dignity of labour. The seven day Special Camp of Sreepathy Institute of
Management and Technology, National Service Scheme Unit 233 was held from 23rd to 29th January 2024 at Kalavara,Vattenad.
